Unceded Airwaves Episode November 13, 2017
Inquiry Commentary, Missing Opera, and A Film Review
11:01am - 11:58am
In Season 3 Episode 3- we talk about the missing and murdered Indigenous women. Autumn gives us a review of Missing, an opera that just closed in Vancouver and is now on its way to Victoria. Josh then discusses and reviews the film, Wind River, and provides some suggestions about potential improvements for how films can improve in the future. Then Autumn reads a press release that includes advice from the Union of BC Indian Chiefs. An app called, Taken Knowledge Keeper is also included and could potentially be a valuable resource for individuals participating in the inquiry, or families who have lost a loved one. Then for the final portion of the show we play exclusively female-identifying artists to show solidarity to our siblings who are suffering.
Thank you to the families and individuals who have/are participating in the inquiry. Unceded Airwaves supports you and we are here to show solidarity,
Thank you to our co-hosts Autumn Schnell, and Josh Kioke for showing up every week to bring you this weekly program.
