SIESKI (she/her) is a Vancouver-based performer and multi-disciplinary artist. As a singer, songwriter, musician, and actor, she is a queer-femme force, charming audiences on the stage and screen.
The pandemic was a catalyst in SIESKI’s music, landing her in the Top 20 of the online songwriting competition, ‘Sing for the Shot,’ composing an original score for the world premier of ‘Dressed as People,’ presented at the 2021 Ottawa Fringe Festival, and earning a spotlight for the alt-pop anthem, ‘Lady Deity,’ in the #VizzybilityProject, backed by Canada’s Drag Race Winner of Season 1, Priyanka, and the Toronto-based “Queer Collective”.
Songwriting is second nature to SIESKI, writing rooted and raw song-stories that flow and swell and absorb the listener. The sound of her name represents the keys of a piano and the tides of the sea - SIESKI’s deeply evocative singing and imagery transport you with subtle power.
SIESKI released the indie-eclectic jam, ‘Jamie,’ this summer followed by her second music video and FACTOR Funded project, ‘Scale Model, (expected in the Fall of this year) which will have the Artist immersing herself in an intersection of sound and story. Three-time Juno Award nominated artist and Top 22 Women Artists to watch in 2022 (by TuneCore worldwide) – ALYSHA BRILLA (she/her/they) is a songwriter and music producer with a special interest in sound as a healing modality - stemming from a deep belief in music's power to transform ourselves and our world. As the first female artist in Canada to receive multiple Juno Award nominations for a self-produced album, her genre bending sound is inspired by growing up with parents from two different cultural and religious backgrounds; a Muslim Indo-Tanzanian father and a Christian Irish/Scottish Canadian mother. Alysha's music connects rhythmic sounds with esoteric lyricism; transporting listeners to a place suspended between the earth and the stars.
Raised in Brampton, Ontario, Brilla's rocky youth and intersecting cultural influences encouraged the birds eye view, non-linear philosophies that inform her artistry and teachings. At nineteen, Brilla was signed to a major record deal, but felt limited by the sexism and boxes placed around her in the industry.
After a string of heartbreak and disappointment at the hands of the industry, Brilla moved back to Canada from L.A. and began producing and releasing her music completely independently.
What followed was one of the most successful indie artist careers to come out of Canada. Thanks to a growing collective of music fans worldwide, Brilla regularly tours internationally including across Australia, Singapore, Tanzania and Chile. In addition to live performances of music, Brilla has conducted creative wellness workshops in schools for the past ten years; promoting storytelling through music and mentoring in self-expression through the arts with a focus on developing skills in songwriting and music production. Deep Talk is their latest single, you can listen to her tunes and learn more about this compelling artist on her website at alyshabrilla.com
