Today a good friend Izzy Leyshon came on the show to chat with me about her move away from UBC Varsity Soccer toward the outdoors. Leyshon spent high school and her first three years of university playing competitive soccer. Nearing the end of her degree her career goals starting to clash with the commitment that comes with varisty sports. She decided to trade in the cleats for a pair of snowboard boots and has taken to the slopes. Izzy is part of the Ski and Snowboard club executive and designs merchandise for other outdoor clubs like the Surf Club and Mountain Bike Club. We round off our discussion with her reflection on her area of study -- Natural Resource Conservation Science and Management -- and the work experience she's had so far. After graduation this Spring Leyshon will be fighting forest fires for the Government of BC. Wish her luck!
