For this months show we celebrate Rolands 50th anniversary and pay tribute to that little silver box the TB303. Originally the TB303 was designed as a replacement for the bass guitar where musicians could program basslines to play along to. The machine was a failure and was discontinued in 1984 which was, around the same time Dj Pierre, Spanky (RIP) and Herb J of Phuture got there hands on one and changed the face of dance music with the creation of Acid Tracks. By turning the knobs a creating this squelching sound that we have all grown to love. The Acid Sound was created and the TB303 was given a new lease of life which continues today, with many artists still using the TB303, or its many clones and plug ins to create that Acid House Sound. This show features a selection of tunes from the past that have used the Roland TB303 to get the dancefloor moving and grooving.
