Mix Cassette Episode January 3, 2018
7.1
8:00pm - 9:00pm
Welcome back everyone and to the first mix of 2018 and it pops like the festivities. Happy New Year, hope you all had a good break / holiday time spent. This cassette is filled to the brim with superb production and vocals - a good way to begin the new year, I believe. Kelela kicks things off and out with the stunning title track from her very, damn, good album 'Take Me Apart', which is followed by a great cut from an overlooked, but supremely talented group, The Foreign Exchange, next we have MF Doom being sharp as a Ginsu over the Sade sample, and Tei Shi with the very cool track off of the record 'Crawl Space'; Grimes then paves the way into the next section, with SZA feat. Travis Scott following through with the ultra trap ballad, Charlotte Day Wilson drops the crazy cool vocals, and St. Vincent in classic baroque form, Kanye then goes Kanye from his classic, most influential album, '808s and Heartbreaks', and Majid Jordan as well as Heaven bring back us calmly back to earth; we close with another stellar track from The xx' most recent album, a brand new cut from N.E.R.D.'s incredible new album, and a bonus gem that keeps it moving like only a house track from the 90s can - Please enjoy~~
