Episode 4: Good People do Drugs
11:00am - 12:00pm
In this episode we look at the world around us; the spaces and communities we occupy, and how they exist in opposition to a culture of isolation. Guided by sociologist Amin Ghaziani’s People, Protest, and Place: Advancing Research on the Emplacement of LGBTQ+ Urban Activisms to understand community and queerness, we look at representation with Trevor Goodyear and Chistian Barborini’s photography show Queer Eyes, Queer Lives, part of the Queer Arts Festival and UBC research studies on drug use. Exploring further the importance of collectivism in healing, we speak to organizer Amelie Heppell about the role of live music venues in organizing for resistance.
