gak's back from Japan and he's back in the thick of things as it's time for our annual Oscars profile series! The nominees for the 97th Academy Awards were announced belatedly whilst he was away so with 4 weeks to tackle the nominees, our 1st profile looks at Volker Bertelmann's score from Conclave & Daniel Blumberg's music from The Brutalist, both up for best original score. We also talk about the Los Angeles fires that impacted the usual awards schedule as many artists have lost homes this January.
