June 21 is Indigenous Peoples' Day, along with the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, we spend a good portion of this episode honour those who lived first on hallowed grounds, which has added relevance this year in light of the continued horrors that Canada's residential schools have wrought on countless generations. We profile BC Smith's soundtrack to the 1998 film Smoke Signals and preview the now partially live Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
