Gematria is the practice of assigning numerical values to words- probably developed by ancient greeks as soon as they had invented algebra. Much as a playlist consists of each of its parts (a song), each letter of these words have meaning unto themselves in gematrial calculations. Analog in this context refers to the innate similarity between song structures, emotions expressed through instrument playing, etc. that translate across genres. culture is always heavily self-reflective and infinitely self-referenced, especially in our age of infinite choice and availability of music.
