Posthumous is a bit of a morbid term, but now-defunct local favorites Peace have ushered their final album into the light of the soggy city – posthumously. Or post-endeavor, post-romance, post-Vancouver, post-punk? We don’t even really know what it means anymore. Let’s just be content with some “new” tunes from Peace and move forward.
It’s a lovely record with some country twists.
Here is what Peace vocalist Dan Geddes has to say about Magic Cities: “It took a long time to make, and we toured with some of the songs quite a bit before recording them. It’s basically the product of a lot of musical and lyrical tinkering. Some might say too much, in terms of time spent. But I think, objectively, it’s our best one.”
