Ninth Wave Episode June 3, 2020
Episode 072
9:01pm - 10:07pm
Tonight's show is dedicated to the life of George Floyd. I had reservations about producing a show during this time but I believe grassroots journalism and BIPOC representation during times like this is extremely important.
That being said I chose only Black artists from Turtle Island for this mix and may continue to do so in the coming weeks. In this show is an ode to The Last Poets out of New York as well as music from Tall Black Guy, Black Thought, Terrace Martin, Nina Simone, Ab-Soul, Shad, Gil Scott-Heron, The Celestics, D Smoke & more.
By no means is this a comprehensive mix of Black music because that would be impossible and the show would go into eternity!
I finished with some words from myself about the current state of affairs in the world, I list a BUNCH of ways to acknowledge, learn and support during this time and I give you some news on the upcoming action taking place this week.
Please take a listen with an open mind.
Again, I felt called to produce a show this week to uplift Black voices and artists and I hope I did a justice.
