hi, i’m gil goletski.  i am a multi-media doer and i live in vancouver.  i make animation, illustration, and music.  i recently graduated from emily carr university and helped start an animation collective with a bunch of friends called flavourcel.  i make a lot of stuff about being transgender or autistic, but today i made some drawings of a cat.  is cat guy one person or a proxy for different sorts of people?  i haven’t really decided that yet.  i’ve been thinking a lot about the implications of drawing people as anthropomorphic animals lately.  it makes them easier to connect to as a viewer (like in looney tunes cartoons, for example), but there is also a sense of one-dimensionality to them that feels alienating.  i drew all of these illustrations on paper with a fountain pen, including the animation, and coloured everything digitally.  i had a lot of fun drawing them. : ^)
