While Chuck was primarily thought of a pop musician (and there were fewer more brilliant at tapping into the teen psyche than him) all his music was rooted in the blues. That's what he started out playing, and it was rare for him to do a recording session at Chess Records without recording at least one blues song. They were not very often the hits - they ended up as B sides, or album filler, or weren't released at all at the time. In honour of his recent passing, we play a whole bunch of 'em!
