Bookworms! Verses Festival of Words is nigh.

Running from April 22 – May 3, the fifth annual literary festival will be taking place along Commercial Drive – the primo cultural district for Vancouver’s spoken word community. As one of the programs offered by non-profit Vancouver Poetry House, this year’s schedule boasts the Canadian Individual Slam Championship (determines #1 Canadian individual in slam poetry), as well as the sold out event All-Star Slam.

There is more to the Verses Festival than slam poetry, however, with live interactive performances and competitions with oral storytellers, spoken word artists and singer-songwriters.
