Morgan Dinsdale, founder and executive director of State of the Snowpack, saw an opportunity to fill a gap in snowpack communications. State of the Snowpack (SOTS) is a BC public safety society facilitating community conversations to save lives in the backcountry, inviting avalanche experts with a minimum level of experience to share current conditions and interactive case studies throughout Interior BC. Hailing from Nelson, SOTS has expanded to Rossland, Revelstoke, and now Fernie. The society hopes to continue expanding through BC and beyond to keep mountain enthusiasts safe in our rugged terrain.
