New Music Review By Mark Hjorthoy
Trepaneringsritualen – The Totality of Death (Omega)
When it comes to dark music, I like to jump in with both feet and absorb what’s going on. When it comes to Trepaneringsritualen, I creep in from the sides and hope he doesn’t notice me while I live in fear of my soul being eaten by giant beasts that live off of our essence. ‘The Totality Of Death (Omega)‘ to me, sounds like a Hieronymus Bosch painting. If you paired the two in an art show, you would get a perfect representation of evil. This one is diabolical.
Trepaneringsritualen – The Totality of Death (Alpha)
Though similar in tone to ‘(Omega)‘, this album sounds a bit crisper. More desperate, like listening to a Francis Bacon painting. Still evil, still scary, but with more anger. Anger that brews under the surface and waits to take your soul. These releases are scary, dark and foreboding, but they are albums you will never forget.
