PARISA AKHBARI (she/her) is a writer and mental health therapist from Seattle, Washington. When not writing or therapizing, she can be found trying to replicate her grandmother’s drool-worthy Persian recipes, hanging out with the disability community, and marathoning sci-fi movies with her partner and dogs.
Just Another Epic Love Poem is her debut novel and introduces readers to best friends and high school seniors, Mitra Esfahani and Bea Ortega who have been co-writing an epic, never-ending poem since they were 13 years old.
Through the poem, the girls share everything—Mitra’s complicated feelings about her absent mother, Bea’s heartache over her most recent breakup. Nothing is too personal or revealing for their poem, except for the one truth that could change their friendship forever—the fact that Mitra is in love with Bea. The book drops March 12th, so mark your calendars! To connect with Parisa you can find her on Twitter X @parisawrites Insta: @authorparisa and on her website parisawrites.com
