JORDAN SULLIVAN (he/him) is a Canadian trans man with a Master of Arts in Religious Studies and is a survivor of conversion therapy, who now works to support others who underwent similar experiences as him. He works at the Community-based Research Centre (CBRC) as the 2SLGBTQ+ SOGIECE/Conversion Therapy Survivors Support Project Coordinator and has previously worked with the United Church of Canada in order to insure 2SLGBTQ+ justice and representation.

He is a survivor of religious-based conversion "therapy" practices. Through a survey, focus groups, and interviews, CBRC listened to 270 survivors who have been harmed to assess support needed by survivors and work with Canadian partners to deliver the supports needed to recover.

Jordan’s 20-year employment at The United Church of Canada’s General Council Office (2000-2020) included a variety of roles ranging from Lead staff for LGBTQIA2S+ Justice in Canada, to Partnership Animator for Outdoor Ministries, Campus Ministries, and Community Ministries to name but a few.

The CBRC promotes the health of people of diverse sexualities and genders through research and intervention development. CBRC’s core pillars of community-led research, knowledge exchange, network building, and leadership development position the organization as a thought leader, transforming ideas into actions that make a difference in our communities. JAYDEN NICOLE BINNIX (they/them) professionally known as alt/indie artist BLACK POLISH, started writing music at age 13. Inspired by an eclectic range of artists such as Twenty-One Pilots, Fleetwood Mac, Nicki Minaj, Lourde, and Mitski, this (now) 18-year-old released their toe-tapper tune, "Void" in October of last year.

Identifying as a member of both the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, Black Polish brings a unique perspective to their interpretation of the world, and this can be seen on their forthcoming record. Their presence in these spheres is marked by a powerful assertion of identity, and they ardently champion mental health awareness while maintaining a heightened sensitivity towards other marginalized groups.

The Maryland-born singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist released their debut EP “Out of Place” in 2021 and was featured on Spotify playlists New Music Friday, Fresh Finds Indie, and Lorem among many others.


After moving to Los Angeles in 2022, Jay jumped into the studio to finish their LP entitled FOREST, which is fresh out this month and available on all the streamers. With over 10 Million streams across platforms and a number of live accolades (including gigs alongside The Midnight and Hemlocke Springs, Black Polish is on the rise.
