Sunny Drake (he/him) is a proud queer and trans person who has been described by Broadway World as “one of Canada’s brightest playwrights”. His inventive and award-winning theatre works have been presented in over 60 cities across the world and translated into 6 languages. His wide range of audiences have spanned international arts festivals goers, queers in underground warehouses and seniors in regional theatres.
Sunny was selected to write the 2019 World Theatre Day message for Canada. He recently launched his theatrical podcast, CLIMATE CHANGE AND OTHER SMALL TALK, in which he brings together over 100 artists in 9 cities across the world to create audio dramas. The RYAN AND AMY SHOW is a Vancouver-based Canadian sketch comedy duo composed of Ryan Steele (he/him) and Amy Goodmurphy (she/her). Known for their hilarious online content, which has over 100 million views to date, they've been performing together for over 15 years and in more recent years they have been adding to their comedy success with their podcast POOR LITTLE THING.
They have toured Canada and the United States including doing Sketch Fest in Montreal and Vancouver as well as Just For Laughs. The group produces sketch comedy shorts that are distributed via YouTube and on their website, but have appeared on other sites as well such as Funny or Die. They've been performing together for over 15 years and in more recent years they have been adding to their comedy success with their podcast POOR LITTLE THING.
Goodmurphy and Steele have starred together in many television shows including the YTV show The Funny Pit, The Face of Furry Creek, CBC's The Pitch, and Out For Laughs. Steele made a memorable appearance on the second season of The Amazing Race Canada, coming in 3rd place with team-member Rob Goddard, while Goodmurphy has been in Super Channel's Too Much Information as well as Thirty Seventeen directed by Michael Coleman.
The duo was short-listed for a Canadian Comedy Award in the Best Live Ensemble category in 2016.[6] In early 2018 the duo's short film White Wine Boys Club won first prize at the Vancouver Just For Laughs Film Festival, as well as the Grand Prize competing Internationally against other JFL Film Festival winners.
