New Music Review By Mark Hjorthoy

tremorkikimor – Пустоши

Even though I am struggling to pronounce this album, I certainly am NOT struggling with the content: nature sounds wrapped in disruptive noises that scramble your sense of calm. This one disorientates you and leaves you with a sense of wonder. Brilliantly put together. I love what tremorkikimor has given us. A soundtrack for your secret thoughts to come to light.

Pietu Arvola – Meidän täytyy valvoa jottemme nukkuisi, sillä maailma on liukas

While I’m on the topic of struggling to pronounce names, we have this excellent release from Pietu Arvola. A brilliant collection of sounds and haunting melodies all pressed together by skilled hands. There are so many voices in each track that you never get bored or tired of them. Straight out of my dreams, this multi-layered masterpiece is worthy of your time. Give it a listen with good headphones. It makes a big difference.

Daniela Huerta – Soplo

There is something magical that happens when a skilled musician/producer marries nature sounds with electronic movements. When it’s done well, the space they create is breathtaking. That’s the best way to describe Daniela’s latest offering, ‘Soplo‘. The placement of music to sounds is perfectly constructed, and blend so well, that I’ve found myself going back to it several times. Each time, I’m blown away by the brilliance of this. Excellent work. Beautifully crafted.
