New Music Review By Mark Hjorthoy

Olivier Cong Tropical Church

Listening to this album is like going through a year of experiences. Ones that change you. Make you see the other side of things. These tracks are for you to learn and grow. The changes each piece subjects you to is another chance to see things in a different direction. Olivier Cong has delivered a stunning creation that I won’t soon forget. A perfect soundtrack to a rainy, introspective day.

Christopher McFallI Throw The Switch On The Midnight Snake

One of the things my friends know about me is my love of the ‘Eraserhead‘ soundtrack. While many of them don’t get it, they love me anyway (Thanks, friends!). What I haven’t heard, is another album that equals the joy of noise that David Lynch created…until now. Christopher McFall has created a genius album full of sounds that travel in and out of the aural spaces and glue together like they were heard in the same place at the same time. This album is a joy to explore. Sound junkies – go get this. Excellent work!

PJSFlora

I get excited to hear new music from people in my area, and ‘Flora‘ from the Vancouver Island duo PJS is something to get excited about. Swirling pads and slow moving melodies make tons of room for you to dream to. Nothing but blue skies and a slight melancholy flood this album. I find my thoughts drifting when I listen to “Imaginations” and the rest of album is pure joy to experience. Cheers gents. Moving and beautiful.
