Today, April 30th, the Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice Undergraduate Student Association presents their 8th annual F-Word Conference. This year’s conference is entitled ‘A Year in Review: Activism, Solidarity and Navigating Oppressions’.

The F-Word Conference showcases student-organized research and presentations as well as community collaboration across activist and academic disciplines. The conference provides a venue for feminist scholars, students, and community members to learn each other’s skills, knowledges, and experiences. It is a day long conference, and includes presentations from students, community organization workshop, free meals and keynote speeches.

The F-Word Conference will provide a safe, anti-oppressive space for students, faculty and activists to collaborate and share their ideas in order to create meaningful dialogue and establish an academic and activist community. The F-Word Conference will create an environment where attendees can bridge the gap between theory and practice to become more effective, responsible and create scholars and activists.

Today’s speakers include Jules Arita Koostachin, Amal Rana and Daniella F.L. Barreto. The conference will be live broadcast on CiTR 101.9FM and citr.ca from 3:50-4:50 pm.
