Bike to Work Week Celebrates at UBC

Fall’s Bike to Work Week is back, and HUB Cycling is ready to break even more records across Metro Vancouver, reminding residents that it’s often faster and more convenient to choose two wheels – even in the fall and winter months.

“There is often a perception that cycling is slower than driving to work – but in fact it can be the fastest mode for some trips, especially during rush-hour,” said Emma Cunnington, Bike to Work Week Manager. “And if you factor in needing less time at the gym or fewer hours working to pay $5,000-$10,000 a year in car ownership costs – cycling saves you even more time.”

Today, October 25th, they’re celebrating on UBC’s campus just outside the bookstore. You can check them out from 4 pm – 6 pm for safe cycling tips and a chance to win prizes, including a trip for two to Amsterdam! Plus, CiTR will be DJing and handing out Discorder Magazine.
