Weirdos slowly charms you with a light mix of comedy, drama, and the occasional quirky wisdom from a guy with an Andy Warhol wig.
The story is about two teenagers who head off on a road-trip across Nova Scotia with dreams of new beginnings and adventure. What they discover along their journey though is greater awareness, both of themselves and those they love.
Set in 1976 the music adds an array of colour to the picturesque monochrome images.
What we learn from Weirdos: “We’re all a little Andy Warhol.” And that’s a good thing.
Weirdos is playing at VIFF on:
- Oct 3 at 6:45pm at International Village 9
- Oct 5 at 1:00pm at the Vancouver Playhouse
