CiTR is excited to welcome new and returning students back to the UBC campus for another Winter semester! The weather is getting colder (ugh) but things are heating up around the station. We’re looking for new volunteers who are passionate about broadcasting and music journalism, or just want to learn more about everything from creating audio media to archiving music!
Take a look at our September Events Calendar
for a full schedule of events plus cool stuff
happening at venues all over Vancouver!
We’ve got a whole roster of events lined up this September with AMS Events and AMS Firstweek 2016, including our iconic Live@Lunch concert series featuring a different local band LIVE in the Plaza outside of The Nest every afternoon! We’re also opening our sliding door for the Open House Series (where you can come and learn all about the station and become a CiTR member) from 11-2 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and from 11-5 on Friday during Firstweek.
We’ve also got a lineup of radio show-specific open houses from Duncan’s Donuts, Student Special Hour, Crimes and Treasons, Shine On and more TBA!
Our Student Executives are also hosting a listening party on Friday September 16th for students interested in hearing what CiTR plays on it’s airwaves and want to hang out with our incredible team.
Throughout September, Discorder Editor-in-Chief Brit Bachmann will facilitate How to Write for Discorder Workshops, and, at the end of the month, Duncan McHugh will give a workshop about how to host a radio show.
Add us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram or follow us on Snapchat @citrradio to keep up to date with all the awesome stuff we have going on this month and beyond!
Here’s more information about how to get involved at the station and here is how to contribute to Discorder.
