Located in the urban beauty of Jericho Beach Park on the shores of the Pacific, the 2016 Vancouver Folk Music Festival runs July 15th -17th, presenting a roster of global folk from 18 different countries on seven beachfront stages. Over 60 acts are slated to perform, including singer/songwriter icon and activist, Bruce Cockburn, the world sounds of Haiti’s Lakou Mizik, legendary English folk punk group Oysterband, LA-based indie band Lord Huron, Estonia’s Trad.Attack!, celebrated UK father-daughter folk duo Martin & Eliza Carthy, Oregon’s world music collective Nahko and Medicine for the People, plus M. Ward, The New Pornographers, The Wainwright Sisters and many more.
The festival also features the Little Folks Village, Artisan Market, Folk Bazaar, Community Village, and an international food area that offers a stunning array of delicious options. Workshop and concert stages start on Friday afternoon, with six daytime stages running Saturday and Sunday from 10 am onwards. There are also Evening Main Stage concerts on all three weekend nights.
