UBC Pride Week has officially started!
Known as ‘OUTWEEK’ UBC Pride has once again planned a week full of laughing, (un)learning and love! This year, OUTWEEK is focusing on the tensions and power at play within attempts at forming communities like Pride UBC and spaces of solidarity that reflect the realities of queer lives, power and identities. Queer U started things off on Saturday, and the week will end with a dinner and party on Friday!
We’re particularly excited for the dinner and dance on Friday, which will follow a completely FREE performance by Rae Spoon! As a talented musician, writer and face for the transgender community, Rae Spoon has produced an impressive 10 solo and collaborative albums over the past 10 years. The UBC Department of Critical Studies In Sexuality (CSIS) and the Jane Rule Endowment Fund have very generously funded Rae Spoon’s performance, and UBC Pride extends a HUGE thank you to them!
