The Vancouver Short Film Festival takes place on Friday & Saturday, November 15 – 16, at the Vancity Theatre. The festival celebrates BC-bred filmmaking talent with an exciting lineup of notable and award winning short films in a wide variety of cinematic delight!

Now in its 4th year, the festival continues to connect BC’s best shorts with a wider audience, highlighting the vibrant community of emerging and established short film, video, and animation artists on the Canadian West Coast.

With five different screenings over two days, UBC is well represented throughout – among them is triple-Leo-award-winning Beauty Mark that screened at Cannes, by UBC Film Production alumni, Mark Ratzlaff – a dark drama about a child-beauty-queen who is pushed to the edge and must take drastic measures to reclaim her childhood. Catch Beauty Mark at the BC All-Stars Screening on Nov 15 at 6:00 PM at the Vancity Theatre.
