CiTR is proud to support the June edition of Takin’ Turns, a showcase that gives emerging talent an opportunity to share the stage with more established artists.
Now in its second year, Takin’ Turns is a local music showcase happening every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the very funky Prophouse Café (Venables & Commercial), where three musical acts share the stage and play music in-the-round. This month Takin’ Turns presents Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition finalist Alexander Flock, the soulful smouldering vocals of Karen Larson accompanied by Pat Covernton on piano, and the beautiful songs and lap steal guitar of Australia’s Jason Lowe. There will also be a raffle in aid of Crisis Centre with first prize donated by Prussin Music.
For more information, please visit the Takin’ Turns website. If you’re a singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, duo, or trio interested in taking part in a future show, please e-mail info@takinturns.ca.
