Next week is the 2012 Vancouver Kidney Walk, also known as the Sons of Scotland’s 5th Annual Tartan Stroll. It aims to raise $60,000 (the exact cost of treating one person on haemodialysis for just one year) to fight kidney disease and for the first time ever, will include a 5km cycle ride from Athletes’ Village Plaza towards Granville Island and back! Participants may even sign up to paddle the Walk in a dragonboat without previous experience. The event is free to register and open to all to attend. Other festivities include dance performances, live music, food, and a sword demonstration.
