This week Arts Report keeps it literary, with a twist!

The UBC Arts Report with Nicolle Cai (our wonderful Arts rep on the CiTR Student Exec) brings us a conversation featuring Ira Nadel, UBC English Professor and  Jerry Wasserman, dir. of the UBC Theatre Dept.

Yours truly, Arts Director Maegan Thomas, interviews Rae Spoon, the remarkable musician cum author whose first literary work is First Spring Grass Fire, a collection of stories about growing up transgender and Pentecostal in Alberta. Then verse gets the cinematic treatment with Visible Verse at Pacific Cinematheque. On Oct 13th, 2012, you can experience poetry on screen. I’ll speak to curator and local video poet  Heather Haley about her work and this year’s festival. Her newest videopoem, Whore In The Eddy, will be premiering at the festival featuring her 17 year old son, as editor. Other recognizable local entries include Pamela Bentley’s little black strap for renowned Canadian poet George Bowering, and Dennis E Bolen/Tara Flynn’s Everybody.
